Situated on 9-acres of pristine coastal range forest, this A-frame cabin was a labor of love and dream of Schuyler Silva, the owner who built it. With 1,600 square feet of living space, it features an open loft with soaking tub, downstairs bedroom and bath, and great room with wood-fired stove facing the views of the mountains through the large window wall, stepping out to a beautiful wood deck and hot tub. Designed as a retreat for quiet seclusion and reconnection to nature, it is off the grid and nestled in the local fauna with access to over a mile of moss-covered paths winding past a quarry and a creek. Sustainability Features:
An impressive 8,000W solar array diligently charges batteries that power every aspect of this exceptional property (with a backup generator to ensure zero downtime in the winter). From the fully electric A-frame to the golf cart that conveniently transports you from the parking area to the house, and even the well, which draws crystal-clear spring water. Stormwater is collected then gently permeates the nearby ecosystem, providing essential nourishment to indigenous flora. Our on-site composting efforts actively contribute to ongoing land restoration initiatives. We responsibly harvest firewood from the property, enhancing our fire protection measures and fueling the wood-fired cedar hot tub. Even the septic system seamlessly integrates into our closed-loop approach, upholding a harmonious equilibrium with the natural environment.
