Windmill Neighborhood is tucked into a shady respite in the forest above Paddock on Pendarvis Farm. Our temporary installations of interactive and experiential elements utilize lightweight fabrics, theatrical lighting, and reclaimed and donated materials to create a whimsical experience and showcase the creativity and diversity of the people around us. Gateways into the neighborhood illuminate the theme and draw festival goers to the bar, stage, vendor booths, DJ area, and other interactive artist displays.
Past themes have included wine barrel staves repurposed into undulating facades and lotus flower patterns at the Broken Stave Bar. The Beatles-themed Lucy in the Sky showcased an electrified Lucy with kaleidescopes, marmalade skies, and giant mushrooms. Vendor booths were designed to be repurposed as housing pods as we redirect waste streams to become community assets after the festival.
Forces of wind showcased an Aurora Borealis, Devinci-like floating parachute, giant driftwood windchimes, windswept trees, and a sound frequency stage backdrop. The goal is to foster creativity, playfulness, and interaction, immersed in music, art, nature, and friends.
